{Chapter Six}

About a week later I got yet another surprise from my big brother…well it was actually him he came to spend some time with me since he was in Georgia with his fiancé. We went to lunch every day and he took me down to the Dr. King memorial park one day since it was always something we both wanted to visit. The last day of his visit he finally brought his fiancé to meet me and it turned out she was great. Being that he is my big brother and me being his baby sister I’m sure he was really nervous but everything went great and I actually liked her but most importantly I could see that she genuinely loved my brother and that was what mattered. I called my mom the next day to see how she was feeling about her and she was already in love planning of course and already for grandkids. It was my mom who bought to my attention that I hadn’t been in my normal panic state this week over not getting any news about med school which made me remember I hadn’t checked the mail so once I was done with her I went out to check the mail. If they had come earlier in the week I wasn’t sure but none of us were that good about checking for anything and since my brother was here I was distracted and had forgotten to check. I walked back to my suite almost numb but my heart was picking up pace and I felt like my ears where hot for some reason. Once I was inside I sat on the sofa and looked at the three envelops. I couldn’t bring myself to open them at all then all of a sudden I was almost scared out of my skin by my cell phone ringing.

Hey, what are you up to…your brother still visiting?

Ah, no…no he is gone already…he…I mean I’m sitting down.

Oh…Taylor are you ok? I had to swallow really hard to get the words out.

Edgar….my letters….my letters are here.

Really, that’s great so…what’s the news?

I don’t think I can….I don’t think I can get them open…what if they say no….what if none of them want me?

Taylor, stop you know better than that your work has proven they are all going to want you go ahead I’ll stay on the here with you. Since I knew which one I wanted the most I decided on that one first. I had to know it had always been in my plan to go to St. Johns so I started with that one first. All of the envelope’s where the same basically and they all reminded me of the ones I got back in high school when I was accepted to the colleges I had applied to so that had to be a good thing. Once it was open and my eyes scanned the letter I felt my heart it the floor.
